Small Business Insurance That is Competitively Priced and That Provides the Gold Standard in Protection in 3 Fast and Easy Steps
Locksmith ShopLocksmith shops sell locks and other security devices, including safes and security vaults. They may also provide repair and installation services for locks and security devices, as well as lock changing, key making and key replacement services. General Liability Insurance for Locksmith Shops – Locksmiths should have minimal premises liability exposures since they often do their work at the customers’ location. If a retail store is available or if customers come to the shop for repair services, the risks will be increased. Work areas should be separated from customer accessible areas and signage should be used indicating “Employees Only”. Slip/trip/fall hazards should be reduced by maintaining clean and hazard free shops. Flooring should be in good condition. Parking lots and sidewalks should also be maintained and free of debris. Completed Operations claims may result if locksmiths cause any damage to the property of their clients or if they make careless mistakes causing their clients to be locked out of their homes or businesses. Workers’ Compensation Insurance for Locksmith Shops – Locksmiths and their employees may be injured while using the tools and equipment necessary for installing and repairing locks. On the job training should be provided to all employees. Personal protective equipment should also be worn when working with electrical tools. Business Auto Insurance for Locksmith Shops – Business auto risks are a concern for locksmiths because they frequently travel to work at their clients’ businesses or residences. If a Locksmith shop owns vehicles, they should be in working order and serviced often by an outside contractor. Employees should not be permitted to drive until their MVRs are verified for acceptability. Non-business use of company owned vehicles should be limited. Property Insurance for Locksmith Shops – The risk of fire for locksmith shops should be minimal. However, the proximity and occupancy of neighboring businesses will impact fire risks. Neighboring businesses that carry a higher risk of fire escaping their boundaries will increase fire risks for locksmith shops. Fire exposure from adjoining businesses can be reduced by either an appropriate distance barrier or by the use of approved firewalls. Fire detection and extinguishing systems should be in place. Crime Insurance for Locksmith Shops – Locksmith Shop employees may steal from their customers or may make duplicate keys for themselves with the intent of reentering and stealing from the location at a later time. Employees should be prescreened with background checks and reference checks in order to prevent employee theft and dishonesty. Insurance Policies To Consider:
