Small Business Insurance That is Competitively Priced and That Provides the Gold Standard in Protection in 3 Fast and Easy Steps
Music StudioMusic studios offer instructional classes in vocal and instrumental music for students. They also arrange for on and off premise recitals to showcase their students' work. Music studios may teach strictly one instrument, specialize in vocal performance or offer a variety of music classes. Students pay according to the instructor or studio's rate. Classes may be private or held in a group setting. Beginning, intermediate and advanced classes are typically offered. General Liability Insurance for Music Studios – Premises liability risks can be reduced for music studios that practice good housekeeping. Classroom areas should be well organized to allow adequate walk space between the instruments, music stands, desks, chairs, and other furniture. All furniture should be free of defects such as sharp edges or points that could result in injury to students. During off site recitals, instruments, chairs, and music stands should all be carefully set up in order to reduce the risk of student injury. Workers’ Compensation Insurance for Music Studios – Music teachers may suffer from injuries to their vocal cords or repetitive motion injuries. Music teachers should take breaks between students and sessions to help prevent such injuries. Music teachers may also be injured from toppling instruments, music stands, or bookshelves in the music studio, if they are not properly secured. Business Auto Insurance for Music Studios – Music studios will be at risk of auto accidents since their teachers drive off site for recitals. All teachers should be required to carry and maintain sufficient Personal Auto Liability limits that should be verified at each policy expiration. Risks can also be controlled by running MVRs on all drivers prior to employment and each year thereafter. Property Insurance for Music Studios – Inland Marine coverage will likely be necessary to cover the musical instruments. Inland Marine coverage will also protect the musical instruments while in transit, such as to a recital. The fire loads at music studios will consist of sheet music, furniture, and instruments. If electrical instruments are used, they should be inspected every week for faulty wiring and to ensure proper working order. Fire detective and suppression systems should be in place. Crime Insurance for Music Studios – If expensive and popular instruments are located in music studios, crime risks will be elevated. Burglary risks can be reduced by the use of double cylinder deadbolt locks, adequate outside lighting, and a central station alarms system with contact point triggers on all opening doors and windows. Employee theft of money and securities can be prevented by requiring all checks to be immediately stamped “for deposit only” and performing frequent internal audits. Insurance Policies To Consider:
